CHE Graduate student Ben Hartenbower has completed the requirements for his MS degree. His thesis was titled “Fermentation of Glycerol to Biogas Under Isobaric and Variable Pressure Conditions.” Mr. Hartenbower was advised by Dr. Todd French and co-advised by Dr. Rafael Hernandez.

The Dow Chemical Company has provided $6,800 to the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering to support chemical engineering senior design, student organizations, and laboratory operations. We are grateful to Dow for their support.
CHE Staff Member Patrisha Pham has received a $1,000 travel grant from the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) to attend the 11th Annual NPA meeting.
A total of 39 CHE freshman students have received scholarships for 4 or 8 semesters, at a level between $750 – $1,500 per semester. The grand total of these awards is $310,000. The CHE School is grateful to the donors of these scholarships, which enable us to attract students of the highest quality.
Marathon Petroleum has provided a gift of $2,000 to support faculty and instructional activities in the Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering. We are grateful for this support which allows for us to maintain the high quality of our teaching and research programs.

The Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering has recently received endowment support in several areas.
