MSU Chemical Engineering Students from the Spring Plant Design class recently participated in the WERC 2008 Environmental Design Contest at New Mexico State University. WERC is the Consortium for Environmental Education and Technology Development and was formerly known as the Waste-management, Education and Research Consortium (http://www.werc.net). As part of its mission, WERC supports a higher education program that includes supporting students pursing environmentally related degrees (excerpted for WERC website). Some of the universities participating in the design contest included Cal Tech, Texas A&M, Idaho State, Oregon State, and Arkansas.

Team A: Miranda Smith, Alex Taylor and Jack Carmical

MSU Team B received 4th place in the competition and Dr. Mark Bricka, Faculty Advisor to the teams, was recognized for his support of the teams with the Judges’ Award for Leadership.
