The Bagley College of Engineering recently announced six 2009 inductees into its student hall of fame. These students will be formally inducted in a ceremony next week. This award recognizes students who have made outstanding contributions to their departments, the college and Mississippi State during their time here at MSU. One of these students is Stephanie Rodgers, a senior chemical engineering major from Vicksburg, MS. Stephanie began her academic career at Jones County Junior College where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and president of the Engineering Society. At MSU, she is an active member of the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Omega Chi Epsilon. Stephanie is also very active in community service through AIChE and conducted a workshop at the national student convention on how to incorporate service activities into student chapters. This year Stephanie is also serving as a mentor in the engineering living/learning community in Hull Hall providing tutoring and mentoring to freshman engineering students.
