Development of Design Packages
A team of design engineers and supporting business development experts has been organized to provide periodic in-sight into both the technical and economic reality on each of the two processes proposed for development. Factors to be considered include:
1) Storage and transport systems for all materials.
2) Analytical instrumentation/diagnostic requirements for all process operations.
3) Materials of construction for all equipment.
4) Economics as the process definition evolves during the project.
5) Mass and energy flow diagrams.
6) Specifications for plant unit processes and supporting equipment.
7) Project plant cost and performance.
A final process evaluation and design report will be generated for both processes based on input from this team. Close interaction of design engineers with both DOE officials and Mississippi Department of Economic Development business development experts will allow for both a national and local technology development effort.
